1. What is Cocolicious Virgin Coconut Oil
Virgin Coconut Oil is edible oil extracted from freshly harvested nuts. VCO acts as a functional food, with potentially positive effects on health beyond basic nutrition.

Characteristics
Physical: Clear and Colorless above 26 C, Solid below 26 C

Sensory:  Light Taste, Fresh Coconut Aroma
Key Nutrients:  Medium chain fatty acids such as Lauric Acid, Caprylic Acid, and Capric Acid.

2. What is the difference between Virgin Coconut Oil and Coconut Oil?

The main difference between the two is the source and how they are processed.

As seen in the table, coconut meat is used for VCO and Copra for Coconut Oil. VCO does not go through any chemical process while Coconut Oil does. Both processes retain the beneficial fatty acids but VCO has an advantage since it maintains its antioxidant nutrition.

3. How our VCO is processed:

What is Cold Pressed?

Cold pressed VCO simply means extracting the oil from fresh coconut milk which is mechanically pressed while maintaining temperature which helps retain antioxidants and nutrients

What is a centrifuge process?

It’s a high speed technique to separate the lighter VCO from the heavier water component in coconut milk. It is important to separate the VCO and water quickly to prevent the VCO from tasting rancid and to retain the fresh coconut taste and scent.

4. Benefits of VCO

Contains Fatty Acids With Beneficial Properties

These special fats are responsible for a lot of the health benefits of coconut oil
When you eat these types of fats, they go straight to the liver, where they are used as a quick source of ENERGY or KETONES

Can Kill Harmful Microorganisms

Lauric Acid makes up about 50% of the fatty acids in coconut oil.

When Lauric Acid is digested, it also forms a substance called monolaurin. Both lauric acid and monolaurin can kill harmful pathogens like bacteria, viruses and fungi.

Can Increase Fat Burning

The medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs) in coconut oil can increase how many calories you burn compared to the same amount of calories from longer chain fats*

The medium chain triglycerides in coconut oil have been shown to increase calories burned over 24 hours by as much as 5%.**

Raises The Good Cholesterol

Coconut oil contains natural saturated fats that increase the good HDL cholesterol in your body. They may also help turn the bad LDL cholesterol into a less harmful form.

Can Protect Your Skin and Hair

Coconut oil can also be applied topically, with studies showing it to be effective as a skin moisturizer and protecting against hair damage

The medium-chain fatty acids found in coconut oil also possess antimicrobial properties that can help treat acne and protect it from harmful bacteria.

The Fatty Acids in Coconut Oil Can Boost Brain Function in Alzheimer's Patients

Preliminary studies suggest that medium-chain triglycerides can increase blood levels of ketones, supplying energy for the brain cells of Alzheimer's patients and relieving symptoms.

5. VCO as a natural source of Saturated Fat

As seen above, there are two classifications of fats - Medium Chain and Long Chain Tryglycerides. One of the main differences between these classifications is how these fats are metabolized by our bodies.

It's important to know the difference since:

- Coconut Oil is considered a Saturated Fat

- However, it is also classified as a Medium Chain Triglyceride (MCT) - a fat that can easily be absorbed by the body for immediate energy

- Coconut Oil is a natural oil which is a great source for healthy fats
